Sussanne is, will always be love of my life: Hrithik

Bollywood hearthrob Hrithik Roshan, who has announced his wife Sussanne's decision to split from him after 13 years of marriage, says she will forever remain the "love of my life".

"This is my greatest tribute to love. Sussanne is and always will be the love of my life for the rest of my life," Hrithik posted on his Facebook page early Saturday morning.

"If her smiles are brighter without me, my love for her must accomplish that. Unconditional," added the 39-year-old.

Rumours of a rift between the couple, who dated four years before tying the knot Dec 20, 2000, had been doing the rounds for a few months. Hrithik put the speculation to an end Friday via an official statement.

"Sussanne has decided to separate from me and end our 17-year relationship. This is a very trying time for the entire family and I request the media and the people to grant us our privacy at this time," he said.

Sussanne, an interior designer and daughter of veteran actor Sanjay Khan, has called the split a matter of "individual choices".

The couple has two sons - Hrehaan, seven and Hridhaan, five.

When Delhi's notorious traffic played villain to Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan ran up on stage halfway into the discussion on Indian Cinema at NDTV's Solutions Summit, bowed to the audience and his co-panelists, apologised and said: "I think globalisation of Indian cinema should start with actors coming on time."

He was greeted with cheers, claps and whistles.

Mr Khan was prevented from reaching on time for his session - Desi Cinema goes Global - by Delhi's notorious traffic.

Amitabh Bachchan had wanted to wait for Shah Rukh Khan, but the discussion had to begin without the star.

Backstage, Mr Bachchan talked to Mr Khan on the phone.

When SRK arrived, Amitabh Bachchan said, "Our main speaker is here. I think he should be asked all these questions."

Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan, Waheeda Rehman, AR Rahman and Shah Rukh Khan engaged in an intense discussion on what keeps their industry from competing globally.

Mr Bachchan and later Mr Khan injected periodic levity with one-liners and pithy observations. The end of the session saw a thrilling finale to the Solutions Summit - Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Waheeda Rehman danced to AR Rahman's Oscar winner Jai Ho. It doesn't get bigger than that.

Movie Review: Jackpot fully busted

Never cast an ex-porn star as a temptress in a censored Bollywood film.

The deal is to grab eyeballs with moderated raunch and some itsy- bitsy wardrobe. Sunny Leone's former calling, we know, didn't exactly draw paycheques for either.

Never try telling a story in a style more complicated than you can manage. Kaizad Gustad ought to have kept that in mind, considering he hardly has a story to tell.

Jackpot, like its bumbling protagonists, tries to be smarter than it really is. The film marks writer-director Gustad's return in commercial cinema after a traumatically eventful decade off screen since 2003's Boom, so there is certain curiosity about the project.

Gustad's new film, though, looks fated to repeat the Boom doom.

Jackpot is billed as a comic heist thriller, which means you go in predicting fast action, faster girls, some crazy characters, and lots of dialogue baazi. Gustad gives you all of the above. Only, he piles the jingbang as an incohesive whole. Storytelling notably was the weak point about his filmmaking in Boom. Jackpot underlines that fact all over again. The film slips into irritating boredom after a point.

This is the story of a gang of amateurs with a plan a con job at a Goa casino for some quick big bucks. The plan goes wrong after everything initially seems smooth. Suspicion creeps into the equation, double cross could be in store.

Gustad was perhaps aware this sort of a plot is not new. To make his film seem out- of- thebox, he tries an unconventional narrative style. The idea is to set off viewer interest by unfolding the layers of suspense through gradual twists.

Take out Naseeruddin Shah from the cast and you can probably dismiss Jackpot as a C- grade flick not worth a second glance. Indeed, his presence in this film foxes you though he does get a few witty oneliners to quip as the casino boss.

Maybe, Shah did it for old time's sake. After all, Gustad had given him a cracker of a role in his debut directorial feature Bombay Boys . This time, Shah's name in the cast only serves to remind you of the promise Gustad showed in his first film.

About hero Sachiin Joshi, he better realise showbiz is not the area he'll find his jackpot.

You couldn't care less, of course. Chances are you will go in to check out Sachiin's heroine.

That, you might realise soon enough, is the biggest downer for this film. It's bad as it is that Sunny Leone cannot act. Worse, when Gustad tries banking on her oomph, she leaves the film fully busted.
