Delhi police oppose BSP MP Dhananjay Singh's bail plea

Looks like the police's opposition could spell doom for Bahujan Samaj Party MP Dhananjay Singh. The Delhi police on Thursday opposed his bail plea, saying that he made his wife carry out the torture on their maid. The police said that he incited his wife to beat up the servants in the house and said that though Dhananjay had filed a petition seeking divorce from his wife Jagriti, both were in constant touch with each other via messages and calls. 

Dhananjay has filed for divorce from his wife Jagriti Singh "They were directly in touch through calls and SMSes. Why they have filed a divorce petition. It is very questionable," they said. Dhanajay filed for bail after he failed to get relief from a magisterial court, concluding that the allegations against him were very serious. The court also said that Dhananjay didn't deserve leniency due to his conduct previously. 

Dhananjay and his wife Jagriti Singh were arrested in connection to the death of their maid. The court will give its order on Nov 29.

BSP leader's son arrested for raping 35-year-old woman on pretext of marriage

The son of a BSP leader was on Wednesday booked and arrested for allegedly raping a 35-year-old woman on pretext of marriage. The woman, who also claims of having a two-year-old child from the accused, said in her complaint that during 2010 she used to work in a factory owned by Shivbhushan (40).

Shivbhushan is the son of BSP candidate from Mangolpuri area. The woman alleged that in 2010, Shivbhushan offered her cold drink laced with sedative. As she fell unconscious, he raped her.

After the assault, Shivbhushan promised that he would marry her and they started living together in a rented accommodation, she claimed.

In the meantime, she gave birth to a baby. However, later, things turned sour when Shivbhushan started living separately.

"We received a complaint on November 22 from the victim in which she has alleged that the accused developed physical relation with her on the pretext of marriage. She also claims to have a two-year-old baby from him," said a police official.

The victim was sent to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital where rape was established in her medical examination. The police then lodged an FIR of rape at Mangolpuri Police Station and arrested Shivbhushan. Further probe is on, police said.

Now, a rape case against BSP MP who was arrested in maid murder case

There is no end to the troubles for BSP MP Dhananjay Singh. A 42-year-old married woman has now alleged that the MP raped her and has filed a case against him.

The MP from UP's Jaunpur is already in police custody in the case of the murder of his domestic help. A Delhi court had on Monday remanded Dhananjay Singh and his wife Dr Jagriti Singh in four days judicial custody in connection with the murder of their domestic help.

Dhananjay has also filed for bail and arguments on bail matter is posted for November 15. The two were arrested last week in connection with the assault and murder of their 35-year-old domestic help Rakhi Bhadra. Jagriti has been charged with the murder of her domestic help while her husband Dhananjay has been charged with abetment to murder and destruction of evidence.


A 42-year-old married woman has now alleged that the MP raped her and has filed a case against him.

The domestic help Rakhi was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Dhananjay Singh's residence in New Delhi on November 5.
