Yuvi special floors Australia

Yuvraj Singh 77 (35b, 8x4, 5x6) continued from where he had left last year in the T20 cricket. The Punjab middle-order batsman followed his match winning performances against England and Pakistan towards the end of 2012 with another scintillating innings on Thursday to propel India to a sixwicket victory with two balls to spare.

The stylish left-hander helped India chase a tough target after Australia made 201/7 at Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium here. Chasing a stiff target on a rather flat deck, India lost opener Rohit Sharma (8) er Rohit Sharma (8) early but Shikhar Dhawan 32 (19b, 5x4) and Suresh Raina 19 (13b, 2x4, 1x6) added 38 for the second wicket to get things going for the hosts.

However, Raina was done in by a short delivery again from Nathan Coulter-Nile. Dhawan shared another 32-run stand with Virat Kohli 29 (22b, 2x4, 1x6) but the inform Delhi left-hander missed a short and wide ball from Xavier Doherty to be stumped by wicketkeeper Brad Haddin.

India brought up the fifty in the sixth over and reached 100 in the 11th, but lost wickets at regular intervals. Kohli also perished in the deep leaving experienced duo of Yuvraj and skipper M.S. Dhoni a mountain to climb. The stage was set for another explosive comeback from Yuvraj and he rose to the occa rose to the occasion by bringing the chase alive.

Earlier, Aaron Finch made a power packed 89 in 52 balls (14x4, 1x6) to power Australia to a big total. Debutant Nic Maddinson 34 (16b, 6x4, 1x6) and Glenn Maxwell 27 (13b, 4x6) also played quick cameos.

Vinay Kumar (3/26) bowled beautifully after conceding 10 runs in his first over. He was well supported by Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/35) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/23).
