An Indian Air Force MiG-29 fighter plane on Friday crashed between Amran and Jivapar villages in Jamnagar.
The aircraft took off from the Jamnagar airbase and shortly afterwards crashed in the fields near Vasay village, around 280 km west of Ahmedabad, on the Gulf of Kutch coast.
The pilot ejected safely from the aircraft, which was on a routine sortie from the Jamnagar airbase.
“A MiG-29 fighter jet crashed at 11.29 am between Amran and Jivapar villages near Jamangar air base,” an official said.
A court of inquiry has been ordered to probe the cause of the accident.
