Job Summary:
Overall primary focus of the Employee Relations Specialist is to provide advice, consultation, and guidance to support a positive employee relations environment. This position will enhance the level of employee engagement, by fostering a high level of employee advocacy, while providing appropriate coaching and advice to location leadership. The Employee Relations Specialist will also be responsible for implementation, analysis and reporting of effectiveness levels for employee relations initiatives and programs, as directed by the Corporate Employee Relations department. This position plays a pivotal role in mitigating risks and the need for third party representation.II. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
* Serve as liason between team members and location management, addressing and resolving concerns in the workplace as they arise, while demonstrating a high level of visibility and accessibility in the warehouse, modeling the company"s open-door process. * Offers feedback, advice, and appropriate mentoring to management members to increase the level of leadership effectiveness and employee engagement. * Partners with General Manager and Human Resources Manager in executing communication vehicles ensuring that items affecting employee engagement are included and delivered through various channels (bulletin boards, newsletters, start-up meetings, building meetings, grass roots meetings, etc.)
* Provide on-going trend analysis regarding employee engagement-related issues, progress and future concerns to key stakeholders. * Assist in the facilitation of training relative to employee relations, company procedures, policies, and leadership effectiveness, provide clear and concise location and enterprise wide communication to team members and coaches. * Assist with the action planning process for the Employee Opinion Survey results, providing feedback on the projected impact of proposed action items to location and senior leadership. * Propose and present results-oriented solutions to issues designed to enhance employee engagement. * Provides recommendations to location management to increase the level of employee recognition. * Collaborate with colleagues across distribution center network and share best practice initiatives to ensure continuity and efficient work practices.
III. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: * The ER Specialist must demonstrate a working knowledge of employment laws. * The ER Specialist will be required to develop an extensive knowledge of Lowe"s distribution center operations and organizational structure. * Develops a wide variety of written materials (e.g. forms, procedures, reports, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information. * Act in a supporting role in the organization of location events. * Flexibility to work varying shifts to be accessible to all Team Members. * Ability to travel, as required.
